Findlay Sprayworks offer a service called SMART repair, which stands for Small to Medium Area Repair Technique. What this means to you is that we can repair damage to your car in a faster time and for a lower price than a traditional car body shop can, while still giving you a great high quality repair. Our service is completely mobile allowing us to repair your dents and scratches at your home or office.

It is important that you look after your car’s bodywork as it greatly effects the resale value of your car. When you come to sell your car many people will believe that a car with good bodywork has been well looked after and maintained, so if the car has been looked after on the outside, chances are it has been serviced regularly and not abused. It is therefore important to carry out car body repairs as soon as possible.

Because we use the SMART repair technique we only repair the damaged area, which ensures our prices are kept as low as possible. We mix all paint on site using computerized matching to ensure we match the exact colour of your car, by mixing the correct colour we do not have to blend large areas like a traditional bodyshop would.

Scratches on cars are particularly visible on darker colours and can often look worse than they are. With modern cars, lacquer (a clear-coat) is applied on top of the colour coat and often, scratches are just in the top layer, when this is the case a spray repair is not even required. Using special polishers, buffing pads, compounds and polishes, we can usually remove such scratches without having to resort to repainting. This means that the original paint work is preserved, the repair takes less time to complete and most importantly to you, a lower cost!

When repairing a dent on your car the first stage of the process is to prepare the area by cleaning, sanding, applying filler if needed and primer, then leveling off to ensure any high spots are removed. The correct paint colour is then selected using our computerised system, mixed and applied followed by a fresh coat of lacquer. Once the repaired area has cooled it is flattened and polished.
